Project Mexico Trip to El Niņo, Mexico - April 2008

In April our team of sixty people traveled to El Nino, Mexico to build three houses for local Mexican families. Our church family had raised the $20,000 needed for building materials, so we all packed into cars, vans, and trucks and arrived for an amazing weekend of ministry, work, and fellowship with our southern neighbors. The team included house leaders, construction leaders, construction team, worship leaders, Barnabas team, Children's VBS team and interpreters. By the time Sunday arrived and we were able to present keys to the new homeowners, we were all so incredibly touched by what God had done in our hearts and the hearts of our El Nino friends. Over 50 children received lunch and heard the Gospel during our Children's VBS. Each of the families also had the opportunity to hear about their perfect/eternal home in heaven through faith in Christ. They also received Bibles and "The Purple Book" (a discipleship book) which they are working together to complete. Our Barnabas team blessed our volunteers and several local families with hot dog lunches and plenty of encouragement on Saturday afternoon, and we were blessed Friday and Saturday nights with awesome times of worship and fellowship led by our worship team volunteers.

Next time we travel to El Nino, we plan to build a church building for our Christian brothers and sisters. The date of the trip is still pending, so stay tuned! We'll be raising funds and making plans for a blessed time with this growing family of believers. Please consider contributing and/or traveling with us as we respond to this amazing opportunity.
