Short-Term and Local Missions

Whether you are new or have been a part of Newport Mesa Church for a while, it doesn’t take long to figure out that we are passionate about what God is doing around the world. We believe that God’s “colors of love” are evident all around us. We just need to open our eyes and hearts to see His love being poured out! Our two primary ways that we are involved in Global Missions are short-term missions and through financial support.

MEXICO HOUSE BUILD – March 23-25, 2018

About once a year, we take a team of people about one hour south of the border to build a home for those in need and host a Vacation Bible School for the kids. We gather in the NMC parking lot at 5:00 am on Friday, March 23, and return to NMC around 4 pm, Sunday the 25th. (Return time depends on border crossing time.)

Each participant is asked to raise at least $250 towards the funds for building the house, which is $7,900. If you would like to contribute to the cost of a new home for a family in need, please use the giving link provided to the right.

For more info, contact Tina GentryCharlie Knoth, or Rose Caneles. If you are unable to join us on this house-build trip, please consider helping financially by giving towards the building cost of the home.

Short-term Missions

We partner with the missionaries we support by taking teams on short-term trips to work alongside them. Every year, we send teams to places like Mexico, China, and Haiti. Let us know if you’re interested in information about an upcoming trip.

Mexico Orphanage Ministry

In the Spring and Fall of each year, we travel across the border to spend time with children by playing games with them, doing crafts with them, and sharing Christ’s love.

We operate all year long, helping missionaries and indigenous people with basic necessities.
