I'm New

Newport Mesa Church is a place where people can meet Jesus,  engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. Join us for our Sunday services!

What To Expect

Our services are around 75 minutes and are designed to help you increase your awareness of God's presence in your life, grow in your faith, and get connected with others who are seeking to follow Jesus. Before attending a service, you may have a few questions...
What is the music like?
Each Sunday, a time of worship is led by a band. With the songs ranging from high-energy to reflective, the lyrics are shown on a large video screen so that you can easily follow along. Our main focus is on responding to God with thankfulness for who He is and all that He has done.

Tell me about prayer and communion.
We believe prayer is a powerful way to connect with God and care for one another. During our services, there is a time when our prayer team is available to pray for anyone. Once a month, we participate in Communion, or the Lord's Supper, as an act of worship for all believers to remember Jesus' sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant. The elements of bread and wine or juice are symbols of Christ's broken body and shed blood. Communion is not a means of salvation. Rather, it is a testament of a believer's faith in the atoning work of the cross.

What is the message about?
The weekly message is focused on the truths of the Bible, and we are invited and challenged to follow Jesus in every aspect of our lives. This is an incredible time for inspiration and learning! You may be interested in watching or listening to a recent message.

What about my children?
During both services, there is loving childcare available for our Babies and Young Toddlers and the Older  Toddlers-6th graders are invited to join in either a Bible Study Small Group or a Worship Service that is specifically designed to engage kids' interests, while telling them the Big God Story and helping each child understand how much Jesus loves them!  Upon arrival to the campus, you will check in at the Kids & Youth Check In Station, and your child will be given a name tag. You will be then be escorted to your children's drop off areas. For the safety of your child, bring the parent tag with you when you sign out your child at the end of the service. For more information, please check out our Early Childhood or Elementary Kids pages.

How about my older children and teens?
There are three separate experiences for students in JHigh and High School (7th-12th grades). During the 8:45 AM service there is a small group for High Schoolers called Bagels & Bibles.  It is focused on searching out the answers to today's difficult questions.  At 10:30 AM, our JHigh have a Worship Service that is focused on building meaningful relationships with peers, leaders and God. High School attends the main service to participate with the congregation.  For more information about our Youth groups, services, and events, please  visit the Youth Page.
